Memcached in Shared Hosting
You can use the Memcached distributed memory caching system with all shared hosting offered by us. It is available as an upgrade, which you can activate with only a couple of mouse clicks via your Hepsia web hosting Control Panel. It needs a PHP extension, which is already installed on our cloud website hosting platform, so you can begin using the Memcached caching system once you order it. The upgrade is divided into two parts, which will give you more flexibility depending on the Internet sites that you would like to use it for. The first one reveals the number of the Internet sites that will use the Memcached caching system, or the so-called ‘instances’, while the second one is related to the memory, in other words – to how much content the system will be able to cache. You can add more memory in increments of 16 megabytes and the more memory you have added, the more content will be cached, which may be an exceptionally good idea for regularly visited websites with large databases and lots of visitors. In this way, you can improve the overall performance of any script-driven website hosted on our cloud servers effortlessly.
Memcached in Semi-dedicated Servers
You can add the Memcached object caching platform to any of the semi-dedicated servers that we offer and use its full potential for any script-driven Internet site hosted by us. The upgrade is available through the Hepsia Control Panel and you can choose two features – the number of instances and the amount of system memory. These things define how many websites can use the Memcached platform and how much memory it will use to cache your info. You can select them separately, since one instance is not bound to a fixed amount of system memory, so you can use plenty of memory for a single large-sized Internet site, for example. This upgrade comes in increments of 16 megabytes and you can order as much memory as you want. The Memcached platform can be used with any script-powered website regardless of its nature, including those based on popular web applications like Joomla™, WordPress or Drupal™, and lots of companies like Zynga and Wikipedia are already using it to increase the performance of their sites.
Memcached in VPS Servers
If you purchase a VPS server from us, you will be able to use Memcached at no extra charge, as the object caching platform comes with all Virtual Private Servers ordered with the Hepsia Control Panel. Even if you have resource-requiring websites, you’ll be able to accelerate their overall performance without effort and the reduced load on the VPS server will enable you to continue using your current VPS hosting plan instead of switching to a more powerful one. The amount of memory that the Memcached platform can use to cache information depends on the package that you’re using, but even with a less powerful one, you will have no less than several hundred megabytes, which is significantly more than the amount of memory you’d get with a shared web hosting package, so the website performance boost will be serious. You can take advantage of the Memcached platform with any database-driven application, irrespective of whether you have written it yourself or you are using a ready-made one like WordPress, Joomla™ or OpenCart.
Memcached in Dedicated Servers
Memcached is available free of charge with all dedicated servers that we offer and the only condition is that the dedicated server must be ordered with the Hepsia Control Panel. You can use the distributed memory object caching system for any database-driven website, including those that are based on famous web applications – for example, a WordPress personal diary or a Joomla™-driven social network. Each server comes with a particular amount of memory that Memcached can use, but the minimum amount you’ll get is 3 GB, which is sufficient enough to accelerate the speed of extremely busy websites significantly, since this memory will be dedicated to storing the cached data. The system will start storing information once it’s enabled, so soon after that, you’ll see the optimized performance of your sites and the decreased load on the dedicated machine. A lot of websites use the Memcached system to boost their efficiency, including popular ones like Wikipedia and Reddit.
